VOLUNTEERS

The fair is totally dependent on volunteers. They come in all shapes and sizes, ages and skill levels. No one is turned away because there is a place for everyone to fit in and be part of this event. Some volunteers have carved out a niche and work in particular areas. Three examples of this are the Exhibit Hall Team who work under Wendy Chevalier’s direction to organize the exhibit Hall Book, receive the 1000 plus entries, and after judging arrange them for the viewing public. Another example is the grounds crew that works from Tent Sunday till opening on Friday to create the “fair grounds” for 1 week on our town common and then take it all down and store it ’till the following year. Some volunteers take ownership in a particular area and work during the year and fair week in that area for example , the Pulling Ring . Volunteers bring energy and enthusiasm as well as new ideas to help create a fresh perspective. It’s a great way to become involved in your town and make new friends.
